13 Tasty Foods/Drinks To Burn Fat
Dear Reader,
We call them "comfort" foods because they bring to mind positive memories, taste delicious and are able to somehow soothe the soul, easing you through tough times. While there are certainly those comfort choices covered in cheese, deep fried or loaded with sugar, some foods that fit into the "comfort" category actually can have you lose weight, keeping fat in check.
Here they are:
1. Hot Chocolate: Cocoa is a natural source of antioxidants and these reduce your levels of stress hormone cortisol that causes the body to hold onto belly fat. A Cornell University research project found that the concentration of antioxidants in hot chocolate is five times higher than in black tea. The carbs and protein can also help your muscles recover faster from hard workouts. Add cinnamon to boost the health benefits even more.
2. Collard Greens: A single serving of this veggie has just 46 calories but more than the daily recommended dose of vitamin A, and K that can make your immune system stronger, keep your metabolism healthy. A cup also has 7.6 grams of filling fiber. and research shows that eating fiber filled foods can bring down your body's absorption of calories from carbs.
3. Chicken Noodle Soup: A broth or veggie based soup before a meal has you eating fewer calories overall. The liquid fills you and boosts satiety, slowing your eating down so your body has time to register feelings of fullness.
4. Coffee: The must have wake up call can also boost your metabolism due to a large amount of the antioxidant chlorogenic acid (CGA) that encourages the use of fat for energy. Go for the strong brews for best results. When it comes to your workout, a small dose of caffeine can improve your performance; help your muscles recover faster.
5. Pot Roast: As soon as the protein gets past your lips, it begins o fight fat. Your body actually has to work harder to break down protein so it can be used for energy, which means you burn calories.as you digest. You'll also feel fuller for longer.
6. Oatmeal: A single cup of this warm, thick breakfast staple has 4 grams of fiber, 6 grams of protein and this slows the digestion of carbs, cuts your insulin response and has you feeling fuller for longer. Oatmeal has been found to be the third most filling of foods.
7. Roasted Carrots: With the high water and fiber content, carrots fill you fast. Roasting at 104 degrees makes them a fantastic calorie burning food according to a University of Arkansas study, the veggie had three times as many antioxidants as it would if eaten raw.

8. Red Wine: It helps your heart, we know that, but it also might be a way to
fight excess weight as well. German research from 2009 finds that resveratrol,
the antioxidant in grape skins, halts the production of fat cells. Add to this
that a natural substance (calcium pyruvate) found in red wine encourages fat
cells to burn more energy. To drink in moderation.
9. Pumpkin: One cup of this gourd has 46 calories and 3 grams of fiber, and is an excellent source of beta carotene, another well known antioxidant, that is known to fight oxidative stress and inflammation linked to fat storage.
10. Chili: This comfort food combines the filling ability of soup with the protein that builds muscle and puts them together in a delicious package. Fiber from tomatoes, the protein from the beans and beef are so good for you, and keep you from eating more than you should. What's more, capsaicin (a substances that gives cayenne, chili peppers, jalapenos their heat) can also burn fat.
11. Chickpeas: Call them garbanzos or chickpeas, a half-cup gives you almost 40% of your protein needs for the day, 70% of your daily fiber needs. They help to control cravings, stabilize your blood sugar and keep you from overeating. They also have lots of good for you unsaturated fats.
12. Roasted Potatoes: These are actually loaded with nutrients, including the chemical allicin, a disease fighting substance that's also been shown to fight inflammation and contribute to tinier waistlines. Research has also found that these calories are among the most satisfying.
13. Mashed Sweet Potatoes: Eating those sweet, delicious potatoes can keep sugar from getting stored as fat around the waist. Sweet potatoes are loaded with carotenoids that slow the release of glucose and insulin, plus they are full of fiber so your hunger keeps from spiking.
To your good health,
